Following the traditional holiday meal, the December 10, 2011 meeting was called to order by President T. White. (43 members and one guest)

A motion to approve the minutes as published was made by Mike Vaughn, second by Bill Ghan and approved by members present.

Treasurer Jim Vokac gave his final financial report; motion to approve as reported was made by Bob Brantley, second by Jack Richardson and approved by members present.  Membership dues are now being collected.  To be a voting member, you must be a member of national, not our rules, national rules.

President White welcomed new member Pat Bordelon, Houston to the chapter.  The cooks were thanked for providing a great holiday meal.  Members were also thanked for donating non-perishable food to M.U.N.C.H.  Cash donations are also accepted.

Several members that attend meetings regularly are absent today.  Clint & Marge Allen are in Olathe, KS renewing his CFI, Tom & Lynn Bentele are involved in today’s Gainesville parade, Linda Grant’s brother passed away so she and Al are out of town and Henny is in Iowa for her grandson’s sixth birthday.

The MPA Safety Meeting held in the hangar on November 30th was a big success.

We have received a $250 check from charter member Robert Harshman.  Robert has not been able to attend meetings for several years due to work schedule and health issues.  Each year he sends a book of stamps to mail his newsletter and a check - $10 dues and the remainder as a donation to the chapter.  We thank Robert for his continued support of the chapter.  His note said he does miss an actual newsletter; it ‘s now just the minutes and meeting info.  Unfortunately photos and newsletter information is online only now.

Chapter member Lisa Johnson is one of the featured area art teachers with some of their work on display at the Civic Center through Tuesday.

There were 13 Boy Scouts for the Merit Badge Academy held December 3rd.  The day long program had scouts from Fort Leonard Wood, Ozark, Nixa, Republic and West Plains.  Aaron Rogers, AirEvac headed it up with assistance from Henny Christensen and President White.  Aaron said the aviation badge is highly sought after because the scouts have heard about our facility, what we do here and they want to come and see it.  This year’s group had done their homework and was ready with answers to Aaron’s questions.

The January 14, 2012 meeting will be noon soup/chili potluck with the business meeting to follow.  Motion by Janet Brantley, second by Jerry Pfister and approved by members.

The annual awards were presented to chapter officers present and obligatory photos taken.

Airport manager Jim Vokac mentioned there is about sixteen gallons airport fuel not accounted for.

Following the meeting there will be a video of David and Lisa Johnson’s son Kevin’s aerial combat filmed in Las Vegas.  It was given as his bachelor party.

With no further business, a motion to adjourn was made by David Johnson, second by Jerry Pfister and approved by members.
