Just came across a photo album on the Springfield-Branson Regional Airport web site. There are many good photos of the move from the old terminal. Enjoy.

On December 17, 2003, Chapter 1218 tested Bill Ghan’s Wright Flyer replica, which received its FAA certification just the day before. It broke ground by a scant few inches, and problems were discovered. Everyone agreed, though, that it was a great way to celebrate the Centennial of Aviation.
On January 10, 2004, the Chapter held an open house after the business meeting. The weather was just as perfect as it had been on December 17, so the attempt to fly the replica was made once again. This time flight was successful, lasting 9.67 seconds, reaching a height of 8 feet 9 inches and covering a distance of 290 feet. It was piloted by Don Nevels, longtime friend of Bill Ghan, and Chapter 1218 member. The Wright Flyer replica is now on permanent display at Springfield-Branson Regional Airport. |
